Yakuza Kiwami 2 + Yakuza 3 - Game Review

It's been a hot minute, hasn't it? I'm sorry about that, I meant to write this post way sooner but I have been busy doing nothing but contemplating and playing Yakuza 4. I was originally going to make a solely dedicated post about Kiwami 2 at first but unfortunately I just could not find enough ground to form a post, as a lot of that game I shared the same opinions with the first Kiwami , outside of story and combat. Kiwami 2's story is a direct continuation of the first one, and it's very good to say the least. It's obviously not as impactful or engaging as the first one, but for being a sequel to one of my most favorite stories, it did a phenomenal job. I noticed a lot of improvements such as the ability to walk into buildings without loading screens and transiting into battles seamlessly, which improved speed a bunch and overall made the experience much better in comparison to Kiwami. Another thing that vastly improved from Kiwami is that the combat in th...

Yakuza Kiwami 2 Review Update

I have decided not to write a detailed review for Yakuza Kiwami 2 outright because I found it to be very similar to Yakuza Kiwami outside of the story and there's not really much I can or could say about it. Don't fret though, as it'll be apart of the Yakuza 3 review, which I thought would fit best. I'm currently going through Yakuza 3 right now so be on the lookout for the review in the next few weeks, as long as real life doesn't intervene. I'm hoping to have more to say than the last few games, but that can wait for the review. Alright, I'll see you guys in the next post. Until next time, peace!

Yakuza Kiwami - Game Review

Welcome to the first of 7 posts detailing my thoughts on the Yakuza games from Sega. The first entry will be detailing my thoughts behind the 2016 remake of  Yakuza , or better known in Japan as  Like A Dragon , originally released in 2005 on the PlayStation 2. I played this on a PlayStation 4 as I will the rest of the games. I just beat  Yakuza Kiwami , and I have a lot on my mind. This is easily without a doubt, one of the most enduring video games I have ever had the chance to play, and probably one of my favorites, of all time. There's so many ideas that go into it, whether it'd be the story, the random substories, the mini-games, etc., it's all done with a clear level of passion by whoever was developing the game, and it brightly shines as the in-game indicator for a MesuKing Card or a random locker key. It all culminates into this brilliant package that I absolutely can't stop being obsessed with it. I might as well get the negatives out of the way first, and the ...

Yakuza Game Reviews

I have decided that I'm gonna use this blog for game reviews for a bit, which, yes sounds a little out there, but here me out. I recently just started playing the Yakuza games and they're pretty great, so I wanna use this blog to detail my experience with each title up to 6, the first review, Yakuza Kiwami, goes up tomorrow. The rest though, I'm not sure, as I have to balance my personal life and interests as well with these games, speaking of which, Radio 36.5 Episode 3 has been delayed to October due to me being lazy. The plan though, is to have the games done before 2023, at least, which I know is semi-possible. This won't affect anything about the blog as I wanna take breaks between each game before diving into another one, and I'm very passionate about the research driven direction the recent posts have been taking. I want this to be something you'd enjoy reading as I've enjoyed writing and playing the games. I plan to start with Kiwami and end on 0, wi...

It's becoming increasingly difficult to find something to write about, and frankly I don't really have much going on to write about in my daily life. So, for the first time every, definitely not the last, an all media focused post. I'll have something next week for sure about my actual life but for now, it's stagnant, anyways, let's begin. Music! I haven't really talked about music much before on this blog until this month but I think I might be done finding new music for now, and the reason why is because I recently got into Boris, the Japanese band. I'm only 6 album into their expansive discography (I only have 20 albums downloaded) and I have enjoyed everything I've heard so far. It's all pretty great stuff, I started with their 2005 album Pink and I haven't really looked back because it's such a treat of an album, everything about it, not a single bad thing I can list about the album. I also listened to a few more albums too, such as Vei...

Not much has happened since the last blog post unfortunately but that's also, not really a big surprise. As expressed before, I start school pretty soon, like in 2 weeks soon, and I'm kind of stress, I went shopping today for a backpack and it started to smell like the outside of the school and it kinda just hit, it's back soon, and I don't know what to think, it's been a fast summer, I mean, really. I watched a lot of films and bought a bunch of Blu-rays and dug around with some games and stuff so I'm very happy I was able to do that, this is the last summer I can do that since after this year I have to deal with college stuff, so I'm gonna consume a bunch of random media whilst I can, I started playing Sonic Generations after going through a rough hour or two, missing files, not starting properly, configuration, all that stuff. I finally figured out the problem and that's I had to turn off the anti-virus protection and not redownload the steam dll file...

God, it's been a LONG time hasn't it, I'm really sorry. I would make up some type of excuse and say "Oh, I'm really busy!" or something like that but genuinely let's face it, that's not the case, I'm just really lazy to write a long form post like I usually would do, now with that being said let's talk about a few things! Monday I went to the park, and I swung, which I love to do, I don't do it much unfortunately and I wish I did it a lot more often but I never feel determined too, I listened to a lot of Sematary during this and it was fun, everytime I swing I get a ton of ideas flowing and it helps me with a clear mental state which helps me a lot with my creativity, and this time wasn't any different. After I was done I kind of, might've, maybe vomited. Usually after I'm done swinging I feel pretty bad and out of breath (I don't get a lot of exercise) but this time I figured out why, everytime I feel that, it was me trying...

There wasn't really a blog post yesterday mostly because there really was nothing to talk about, I still don't feel like there is but unfortunately if I put it off more depending on how much content I have to write I'll start feeling bad, mostly for the lack of writing I'm doing. With all that being said, let's start writing shall we! School ends next week, thank god for that. It's been a stressful last few weeks and I need all the time off as possible, even a week would work but 2 months is absolutely an option I would choose too so I'm not complaining either way. It's not that school was much of a problem before but the new bus ride makes me get home way later than I did before and that's stressing me out because it doesn't feel like I have time for anything really in that day, but alas! A new plan. You guys know how I haven't watched movies recently? Well I'm going to change that. I've noticed that the platform Tubi, which is just ...
