Godzilla!

It's been a while since a blog post and I would like to formally apologize for that. I've been busy with life doing such things as contemplating writing a blog post and sleeping so I haven't really found anything to blog about, so I think I'm going to talk about what I know best, Godzilla. I know I have an abundance of Godzilla on this blog but it's for one reason, I love the thing. There's something about Godzilla that brings me to peace like no other, I'm not sure why either, he's a giant monster that loves destruction and nothing more. I can be here all day talking about him though, but instead I wanna talk about the media surrounding Godzilla, just in general though, I feel there's a lot to talk about there. Did you know that the 1956 American re-cut of the original G film, Godzilla, King Of The Monsters , got a theatrical release in Japan in 1957? That's really interesting, I never knew that happened, I wonder what that release is like, if i...

Godzilla's Various American Titles

If you're a fan of Godzilla any you might be aware that in the 1950s to 1990s that a LOT of the films were renamed to appeal to western audiences (a prime example being Godzilla Raids Again being renamed to Gigantis, The Fire Monster ) and it can get pretty confusing, as nowadays these films are mostly referred to by their original names, so I'm creating this post to one, help myself be familiar with these names so if I see them in the future I'm aware of what's what, and second, I figured I can turn this process into a fun blog post, since it's something I'm very passionate about (Godzilla) and if someone is gonna do it, it's gonna be me, so let's begin! Please note that I will be excluding bootlegs. This will also be a very short post as I wanted to make up for the lack of posts over the last few weeks, so I hope you also don't mind that.  The first film to mention here is of course, the original 1954 Godzilla film, now this one is a bit of a doo...

The 1954 radio drama that introduced the world to Godzilla

Did you know that the original 1954  Godzilla  film actually isn't the debut of Godzilla? You'd think it'd be as it sparked a whole new genre of film, and has caused such a big influence allowing the character to be celebrated to this day but actually, his first appearance was a 1954 radio drama based off the first draft of the script, which ran from July 17th to September 25th in 1954. It was titled  怪獣ゴジラ  or, translated into English,  The Monster Godzilla . Unfortunately, not much is known about this little oddity outside of the cast and crew, and the fact it even exists. It's a little baffling, not gonna lie, it's weird to think the first public appearance of Godzilla wasn't actually the movie, but some tie-in radio drama from the 1950s most people, if not all, seem to have forgotten about, you'd think for how large and important Godzilla is, it'd be archived better as much more, random obscure stuff is archived, like the 1993 comic  Godzilla vs. Cha...

I know it's not Monday but I'm not doing much tomorrow and the rest of tonight so might as well crank out a post in the meantime, it's been a pretty eventful two days so this post is gonna be a long one in comparison to the past few posts. I actually did stuff this time, and one major update I'm pretty happy about. I'll cover yesterday, Saturday to be exact. I'm not sure if I talked about this but I'm pretty sure I did but I ended up taking a trip to Georgia for a trip in general, as I go there a few times every year for family. I left pretty early, somewhere like 6 in the morning which is pretty unusual as I usually head out around 8:30 or 9 in the morning and end up getting there pretty early in the afternoon but we ended up getting there about 10:30, which was very off to me as I'm so used to getting there later than that so I wasn't sure what to do, but that quickly changed as I ended up going to this weird little glorified thrift store in town t...

Really does seem like I'm sticking to that one post a week model, thankfully. There's a lot on my mind racing and I'm not sure exactly where I should start with, I sound so depressed right now but it's actually the quite opposite, I feel quite great today. I've been watching a lot of movies again which feels great to get back into the swing of, I picked back up on the Lone Wolf And Cub films with the two titles Baby Cart at the River Styx and Baby Cart To Hades , I'm frankly blown away, they've managed to be completely consistent with being great considering they're all made in the same year. I'm not exactly into samurai movies but after watching Sion Sono's Antiporno , a shallow critique done through very basic and boring surrealism, I needed to get back into what I really enjoyed, old Japanese cinema. Old is a vague term if I'm gonna be completely honest with you but in my eyes everything made before 1990 is considered old, film wise at le...

It's becoming increasingly difficult to find something to write about, and frankly I don't really have much going on to write about in my daily life. So, for the first time every, definitely not the last, an all media focused post. I'll have something next week for sure about my actual life but for now, it's stagnant, anyways, let's begin. Music! I haven't really talked about music much before on this blog until this month but I think I might be done finding new music for now, and the reason why is because I recently got into Boris, the Japanese band. I'm only 6 album into their expansive discography (I only have 20 albums downloaded) and I have enjoyed everything I've heard so far. It's all pretty great stuff, I started with their 2005 album Pink and I haven't really looked back because it's such a treat of an album, everything about it, not a single bad thing I can list about the album. I also listened to a few more albums too, such as Vei...

Well, I start school in 2 days, which would be a bad thing but it's absolutely not for this blog! Every 2 days always got something happening so it's easier to keep track, but I'm going to write about the last two days since I've had something going on in them, then I'm going to write about the summer in general, and some general life updates. Thursday was the first time I went out to a restaurant in god knows how long, and I was pretty happy with what I got, I went to this pizza place I haven't been to since, what feels like 2021, even though I know I been there this year, and got myself a pizza. I know, invigorating, after that I stopped by Target and got some clothes for school which I'm pretty happy, I only got one shirt which was a InuYasha shirt, a show I never watched, now generally I would be against that stuff but I really liked the design so I got it. I'm not sure how common it's a shirt with all the characters in white and the logo in red...

It's been a while, sorry about that. I was gonna write a blog post yesterday but I ultimately ended up forgetting too but some cool stuff happened so there's that! What's first, well, I'm happy to say I'm now the new proud owner of the World Of Wong Kar-Wai Blu-ray set! I was gonna wait until June to get it but since I had the money and I felt incredibly impatient I decided to jump the gun now and get it, I'm very glad I did because it's truly a great set. I was set to get it today but unfortunately Jeff Bezos had to send his little goblin minions out later than planned and now it's set for tomorrow. May God release fury against him and the ones he loves, but I'm glad I'm getting it regardless because it's an amazing set and having it in my hands would be incredible. I 100% promise a post about it that details the packaging and the booklet it comes with so be ready for that, it's either coming tomorrow or Saturday but there will be a post...

It's been a while since I've done a post like this so if everything seems awkward that's my fault, I need to do this more but I have decided I'm gonna use this time to talk about something I've noticed. Well it's a few things, but most notably negativity. It thrives so often it's slowly becoming a part of people's daily life, mine included. I noticed it immediately when I was going through k-pop fan tweets and was suddenly reminded of the low morals of some of the people who are anti-fans of some groups, most notably LOONA, and I genuinely felt awful after reading some things and I don't want any part in it. Now it doesn't stop ther, obviously, with the advent of music fanbases. Talking from half a decade of experience, and general observations, fanbases are probably the worst thing to happen to the internet, that and music discussion, now I've openly stated those opinions on this blog before but it's 100% the truth. They're always dr...

You know what's tiring? Spending 3 hours in a class, regardless of what you and how much you like the class. You're going to be tired regardless, as was I yesterday and how I am today most likely. I wish I had some type of grasp on why they went this route for the schedule but I'm genuinely lost considering every other altered schedule is 2 hours in one of the periods, so 3 hour classes are a strange decision, considering I don't think any of the tests are that long from what I can remember from when I did them. I should preface this that my state is doing state tests this week, which, fun, it's not that they're bad to do or anything, but more of a, "oh". It's kind of hard to put into words what I mean right now so that's why this reads an incomprehensible ramble, but the again most of the blog posts are just that. I'm just dreading the 3 hour classes as they're draining for no good reason other than some stupid schedule, the only real ...
