Goals for 2023 + Life and Blog "Update"

Hey, it's been a while hasn't it? Well, I figured it'd be nice to give a little update about life in general, and some extra information. I turned 18 recently, I'm an adult now, it feels sureral, honestly. I must admit, I am a child of the internet, so most things that I can do now I've already been doing but I will admit, there is a sense of power that comes with it but admittedly it doesn't really mean much to me, it's just cool and a little bit scary I can go out and buy a house (Realistically that will never be possible in today's economy). I wanna apologize for the lack of posts recently, I've been caught up in real life and some extra stuff on the side to want to make a post, that and I had no clear idea of what I wanted to write about regardless, outside of the LOONA archive I did. Oh yeah, LOONA! I never really gave my thoughts on it, but it's pretty clear where I stand. I'm upset, disgusted and not shocked. I swear there's so muc...

LOONA Archive!

It's been a really, really long time has it? Well, I'm back for right now and I plan on making a lot more posts, but I feel I should at least do some shameless plugging to get back into the groove of things. I have an archive.org account! Yeah, I didn't really use it much until very recently, as the only uploads were a few Takashi Miike films and the updated version of JPEGMAFIA's LP!, however there was a recent discovery that's insane and I feel I should mention. Ever since Blockberry Creative kicked out Chuu from LOONA, there has been a pretty big boycott against the company and I decided to use that opportunity to my advantage and finally use my archive.org account some more! I really love to archive things greatly, as well as storage related things, I thought it would be best to pretty much download as much as I can from the official YouTube channel and to upload it. I realize though, the uploads are very sporadic so I thought I can make a list of what links to ...

As I turn 18 in a few days, everything in life comes to me in a weird, melancholic way. It's amazing how easy a person's emotions can change, it feels like a switch that you can turn on and off every few hours, if not minutes. I'm afraid of turning 18, I'm not sure why, but it's a feeling I can't begin to explain, and if I try, I easily can get my words confused. It's been a while since I opened up Blogger to make a blog post but I feel comfortable enough to just, type away. About what? I'm not really sure, but it's fun to make a blog post every once in a while. I've had quite the eventful month since I've been away, and to be honest, I don't want to get into it, and I'm glad I never talked about it here. Why, you might ask? Well, in the words of the now neo-nazi Kanye West, I guess we'll never know. I think that Kanye coming out the way he did has got to be, easily, the worst thing that could ever happen, but I don't want to ...

I was supposed to make a post Friday but unfortunately got wrapped up in something I quite frankly didn't want to. I'm unfortunately finding less and less to write about what I'm doing at school, as it's pretty boring and mundane right now. The most I can talk about is my coding class in which we wrote some code to execute a very simple Tic-Tac-Toe program and it was pretty fun, it wasn't like we had to code line by line, which would've been miserable since there's specifically 94 lines of text to write for something that basic, but instead we had spots where we had to fill in the blank, it was fun! I really like HTML and to some extent coding, so I'm pretty excited to see where this class goes and takes me, as this semester we're going over the very basics in HTML which I have a pretty good grasp on. I keep saying this and I'm going to say it again, I hope one day I'm able to put this blog on it's own designated website although I really...

Well, I start school in 2 days, which would be a bad thing but it's absolutely not for this blog! Every 2 days always got something happening so it's easier to keep track, but I'm going to write about the last two days since I've had something going on in them, then I'm going to write about the summer in general, and some general life updates. Thursday was the first time I went out to a restaurant in god knows how long, and I was pretty happy with what I got, I went to this pizza place I haven't been to since, what feels like 2021, even though I know I been there this year, and got myself a pizza. I know, invigorating, after that I stopped by Target and got some clothes for school which I'm pretty happy, I only got one shirt which was a InuYasha shirt, a show I never watched, now generally I would be against that stuff but I really liked the design so I got it. I'm not sure how common it's a shirt with all the characters in white and the logo in red...

Not much has happened since the last blog post unfortunately but that's also, not really a big surprise. As expressed before, I start school pretty soon, like in 2 weeks soon, and I'm kind of stress, I went shopping today for a backpack and it started to smell like the outside of the school and it kinda just hit, it's back soon, and I don't know what to think, it's been a fast summer, I mean, really. I watched a lot of films and bought a bunch of Blu-rays and dug around with some games and stuff so I'm very happy I was able to do that, this is the last summer I can do that since after this year I have to deal with college stuff, so I'm gonna consume a bunch of random media whilst I can, I started playing Sonic Generations after going through a rough hour or two, missing files, not starting properly, configuration, all that stuff. I finally figured out the problem and that's I had to turn off the anti-virus protection and not redownload the steam dll file...

God, it's been a LONG time hasn't it, I'm really sorry. I would make up some type of excuse and say "Oh, I'm really busy!" or something like that but genuinely let's face it, that's not the case, I'm just really lazy to write a long form post like I usually would do, now with that being said let's talk about a few things! Monday I went to the park, and I swung, which I love to do, I don't do it much unfortunately and I wish I did it a lot more often but I never feel determined too, I listened to a lot of Sematary during this and it was fun, everytime I swing I get a ton of ideas flowing and it helps me with a clear mental state which helps me a lot with my creativity, and this time wasn't any different. After I was done I kind of, might've, maybe vomited. Usually after I'm done swinging I feel pretty bad and out of breath (I don't get a lot of exercise) but this time I figured out why, everytime I feel that, it was me trying...

It's been a while, sorry about that. I was gonna write a blog post yesterday but I ultimately ended up forgetting too but some cool stuff happened so there's that! What's first, well, I'm happy to say I'm now the new proud owner of the World Of Wong Kar-Wai Blu-ray set! I was gonna wait until June to get it but since I had the money and I felt incredibly impatient I decided to jump the gun now and get it, I'm very glad I did because it's truly a great set. I was set to get it today but unfortunately Jeff Bezos had to send his little goblin minions out later than planned and now it's set for tomorrow. May God release fury against him and the ones he loves, but I'm glad I'm getting it regardless because it's an amazing set and having it in my hands would be incredible. I 100% promise a post about it that details the packaging and the booklet it comes with so be ready for that, it's either coming tomorrow or Saturday but there will be a post...

It's been a long time, or so it feels but unfortunately, not much has been happening in Ruby's world, in terms of media conception though, oh boy. I have gotten into Wong Kar-Wai over the last week. His style of directing is amazing. In terms of visuals he excels incredible over any other director I have watched. A perfect example of this is his film Fallen Angels , which is exactly everything I look for in a film. The story is absolutely enticing, luring you in every single second with a high level of energy and suspense as what will happen next, you really care for everyone in the film, and what they're doing and why they're doing said thing. You really don't get that with many movies, and the only ones you do are the ones that are written incredibly well, which is already a huge plus right off the bat, and then you get the visuals. This is probably, and I'm gonna say this with my full chest, the best looking movie ever made, everything about it is absolutely ...

LOONA Line Distribution

Image
If you've read this blog any, you would be aware that I'm a big (even huge) fan of the k-pop girl group LOONA, also known as Girl Of The Month, which is a group under the helm of the corporate evil known as BlockBerry Creative, whose parent company is Polaris Entertainment (whom Ladies' Code were under before the tragic incident) and it appears to be their only group. I'm gonna be calling BlockBerry Creative "BBC" so it can be easier to type in the long run. LOONA is a great group, the members have personalities that can get you hooked on to ANY of their vlog series, and their appearances on random variety shows throughout Korea, and their music tends to be very good too, as BBC seem to get the best producers in the game to make music for the group. There's a lot that can be said about the group in a positive way, and trust me, I can be here all day to talk about it, but there's one downside to the group. Their line distribution. If you're not awar...

Oh wow, it's been forever hasn't it, I am so sorry. Ever since the last post I've loosened up though and I feel much better. There's been a lot of new stuff since my last update life post so let me run through it! School wise, it was nothing much, boring as usual but in 4th period one day we had a substitute teacher that wasn't too bad, that's about as far as that went. Other than that nothing much, school wise at least. I haven't watched a movie in a few days which is driving me a little crazy so I'm gonna watch one tonight hopefully, more preferably Ringu from '97? I think? It looks cool and it has a Arrow release so might as well, they tend to have incredible Japanese movie releases, although as of late their quality control has been horrible since they were bought out a few months ago, even the customers are making jokes about how frequent the quality control has been, more specifically about their 4Ks, you know, I haven't bought a Blu-ray i...

Man, where do I even begin. Not much has happened this weekend except non-stop media consumption, which to me is far more interesting than anything that physically can happen at least, nowadays. Let's see, Saturday, what happened Saturday... Oh right, I watched Audition (1999)! It's a great little film from Japan about this dude who wants to get a wife because his wife died 7 years prior and his son tells him he should get married, so he tries to. There's not really much I can say that wouldn't be a spoiler but it's definitely an unexpected movie, but a great one at that, definitely comes recommended, I enjoyed every single second of it. I also watched both of JPEGMAFIA's visual albums, which are The Ghost Pop Tape and Darkskin Manson , they're both more laid back than I remember there being, if you know you know. I'm particularly enthralled by both because they're genuinely great pieces of work and I wanna experiment like that with my work in the f...

The last post I made about state testing is true but I feel I should write something in the mean time to keep my mind afloat, things have been a mess recently and I'm not sure how to get it out of my system outside of this blog, now I'm not gonna rant about my problems here as most of it is personal and that's just not really interesting to read, in my eyes at least. On top of it just being helpful for me to be in the right headspace for once, it's been a chaotic mess for the past few days, and life in general. This blog really has kept me level headed more than anything else and I'm incredibly thankful for that as it's genuinely helps to have some type of semi-diary to keep up with and force myself to write for (for which I don't mind, I love writing this type of stuff). My mind is coming at a blank sorry, I'm laying in bed as I type this so I'm trying to find a comfortable position to write at and I haven't been able to get a good one but I thi...
